1. You don't _need_ to do anything. You just _need_ to do what you _want_ to do. What do you _want_ to do? 2. Make things that wouldn't exist if *you* didn't work on them. 3. Being humble is a necessary prerequisite to enjoy all the little and big things in life. True joy comes from the soul, not the ego. 4. Fuck memories, let go, be present. To be present, you need to let go of everything: both the good and the bad. 5. We are not capable of predicting our own future desires. 6. My home is everything to me: I enjoy going to places at walking/cycling distance from my home much more than I enjoy travelling. There is something about being close to home that gives me a deep sense of safety. And I absolutely HATE public transportation. 7. It doesn’t matter how big and beautiful your house is; the more time you spend outside, the better. 8. As a corollary of 6. and 7., location of a house matters more than how big and comfortable it is. 9. Regret minimisation is: - when you feel something, express it; - when you want to do something, do it; - when you want to say something, say it. Don’t keep things to yourself, we are social animals, there is fulfilment in sharing. Caveat: times to times your desires can get hijacked. Try to identify those situations and progressively figure out the real truth to your desires. Being authentic to yourself and doing what you feel including when what you feel has been hijacked is still better than suppressing all of your desires. 10. When sleep, exercise, and meditation are taken care of, everything else takes care of itself. 11. In the end it doesn't matter how good you are at your skill or how much money you have in your bank account: all that matters is being a good person to the few closest to you. 12. Windermere and Ambleside are beautiful, beautiful places.
